I played
bass on two pop-rock singles by Seven Days (also featuring former
Samson singer, Mick White, Chain guitarist Ashley Lymer and the marvellous Jem Davis on keyboards), which got promising
airplay on Xfm Radio and was mixed by Kip Winger from Winger!
Somehow despite the fact that I'd actually recorded the bass tracks, the band decided to credit their live bassist Darren Tingey with the recording on the CD notes. In fact it turned out I'd had a lucky escape when single reviews like this one appeared in Kerrang- "identi-rock mince for the grinder, what does set it apart is bassist Darren Tingey’s bizarre penchant for slipping in the kind of notes which only annoyingly smug guitar shop employees would ever think of playing." |
