I've got a
Warwick Thumb Bass for funky silly stuff like Sack Trick and a Musicman
Sterling Bass for ROCK! I use Bass Centre Elite Strings (40-100 on the
Warwick, 45-105 on the Musicman). Live they go through (in this order), a
DOD Envelope Filter (for very silly wah sounds), a RAT distortion and a
Boss Stage Tuner. Sometimes I'll put a DOD Bass Compressor in line too,
especially if I'm going through strange amps. Usually with Sack Trick live
I use my shiny new Warwick amp with all the controls set at ten (except
the master volume) through an
old 4x10 cabinet that farts on the
note 'B'. I'm not that fussy with amps onstage, they're only monitors the
real sound out front as with recording is from a Direct Input box. |
